There comes a time when we need some help from a licensed professional to help cope with many of life’s challenges. I’m a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (TN and GA) located in the greater Smyrna area providing telehealth services. I would love to help you on your journey toward healing and self-discovery.
Since opening the doors of my practice in 2011, I have provided patients in the Smyrna area with a wide range of psychological services. Life can be overwhelming and sometimes even exhausting, but I’m here to guide you through any obstacles you may face including difficult life adjustments, marital conflict and lingering effects of childhood trauma. My goal is to help you understand yourself more deeply and better cope with change.

My Services
Dr. Andrea Sheffield is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) that provides individual, couple, and marital counseling, and is dual-licensed in Tennessee and Georgia. She holds a PhD in Clinical Counseling and a Master's degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from Trevecca University in Nashville. She is a certified provider of the PREPARE/ENRICH pre-marital assessment/program, is a member of the Tennessee Department of Mental Health & Substance Abuse Services Planning and Policy Council – Region IV, and is also a listed Rule 31 Mediator.

Currently, I am only providing telehealth appointments. I accept Blue Cross Blue Shield Insurance and cash pay with a sliding scale available.
Pre-Marital Couseling
I provide pre-marital counseling using the PREPARE/ENRICH program. This program is an 80-question assessment that you complete online that assists you and your partners' strengths and growth areas, and provides tools to work through conflict and prepare you for a successful marriage. You can find additional information at www.PREPARE-ENRICH.com. The program is at least 8 sessions and sessions are 50 minutes to 1 hour.
At the completion, you receive a certificate for a discount on your marriage license. Insurance does not cover pre-marital sessions.
